DC Cooling Fan & Blower OEM Sourcing in China
Compare China DC cooling fan and blower OEMs by frame size, 5/12/24/48V, airflow/static pressure, noise, bearing, PWM/FG/RD, wire/connector, IP, packaging, MOQ, samples and documents — buyer-side RFQ fields for discrete equipment fans, not retail PC coolers or AC building ventilation.
Buyer context
Make the technical and commercial basis comparable first.
Fan quotes look similar until type (axial vs blower), frame size, voltage, airflow vs static pressure, noise, bearing, control signals, connector/pinout, IP, MOQ and sample terms are written down. Sephalis makes those fields explicit so quotations stay comparable; supplier CFM/noise/life/IP claims stay separate from buyer engineering sign-off. Use this page for discrete DC fans; use heatsinks for metal sinks; use electronic-enclosures when the buy is the housing; do not use this page for retail PC coolers or AC HVAC ventilation.
What buyers usually need to compare
Use these fields to keep quotations tied to the same technical, production and packaging assumptions.
✓ Fan type preference (DC axial · DC blower / centrifugal) and why it fits the airflow path — or open for DFM with assumptions stated
✓ Frame size × thickness (mm) and mounting-hole / screw pattern from the buyer drawing or sample match
✓ Voltage (5 / 12 / 24 / 48 V DC or stated other) and current / power budget assumptions
✓ Airflow target (CFM or m³/h) and free-air vs pressurized condition stated on the brief
✓ Static pressure / system resistance note (grille, filter, heatsink, duct — or "unknown") — RFQ field, not Sephalis airflow design
✓ Noise limit (dBA) and speed / airflow trade-off expectation — buyer assumption / supplier claim
✓ Bearing type (ball · sleeve · hydraulic / other) and lifetime claim request — supplier claim, not Sephalis certification
✓ Control / feedback signals: 2-wire · 3-wire FG · 4-wire PWM · RD / RDB alarm; polarity and pin definition
✓ Wire length, AWG if critical, connector P/N or pinout matching the buyer harness — commercial / agreed basis
✓ IP / environmental / operating-temperature expectations — RFQ field, not a Sephalis guarantee
✓ OEM / customisation tier (catalogue match · wire / label / pack · performance tune · new tooling / full ODM)
✓ MOQ by SKU and by customisation layer; sample cost and sample lead time
✓ Production lead time, quantity breakpoints, and any NRE (connector tooling, custom impeller claim)
✓ Documents to request with the quotation (datasheet matching RFQ fields; P-Q / airflow curve if offered; RoHS/REACH; UL/CE/QMS copies where claimed — supplier claim, not Sephalis certification)
Evidence worth collecting before the next decision
Sephalis keeps supplier statements, technical evidence and unresolved questions separate so the buyer can see what is known and what still needs engineering or specialist review.
✓ Written fan specification matching RFQ fields (type, frame, voltage, airflow/pressure, signals) — buyer-verified once agreed
✓ Dimension / mounting drawing or sample photo with hole pattern — buyer or supplier-provided
✓ Supplier statement on airflow @ pressure, noise @ speed, and bearing / lifetime — supplier claim
✓ Wire / connector / pinout note or harness drawing — supplier-provided / commercial
✓ Supplier IP / environmental statement or test-report copy where offered — supplier claim / document
✓ Written sample terms and production lead time — commercial
✓ Quotation with MOQ, OEM tier, NRE and exclusions — commercial
✓ Supplier-provided datasheet / P-Q curve / RoHS / cert copies where offered — supplier claim / document (not Sephalis certification or market approval)
✓ Unresolved items called out as unknown until buyer or specialist closes them: measured CFM/noise vs claim, report-to-model match, PWM duty/frequency compatibility, IP report configuration, bearing lot consistency, AC-mains fan substitution risk
Commercial comparison
Separate one-time development cost from recurring unit cost.
For electronics, tooling, NRE, programming, test fixtures, artwork and prototype charges may sit outside the production unit price. A useful comparison keeps those charges visible together with MOQ, lead time, packaging and FOB terms.
Technical boundary
Supplier documents are evidence, not automatic approval.
Sephalis can collect specifications, quotations, supplier documents and samples. Formal electrical safety, radio, battery transport, engineering validation, product compliance and market-access decisions remain separate questions for the relevant specialists and authorities.
Common buyer questions
Short answers below describe the sourcing workflow rather than engineering or regulatory approval.
When should I use cooling-fans vs heatsinks, electronic-enclosures or led-drivers?
Use /electronics-sourcing-china/cooling-fans for discrete OEM DC axial cooling fans and DC blowers (frame size, 5/12/24/48V, airflow/static pressure, noise, bearing, PWM/FG/RD, wire/connector, IP, MOQ/sample). Use /electronics-sourcing-china/heatsinks for discrete extruded, skived, bonded-fin, CNC or forged aluminum (or copper) metal heatsinks — not the fan as primary. Use /electronics-sourcing-china/electronic-enclosures when the part is the housing, including fan cut-outs, grills or optional fan-kit assembly claims. Use /electronics-sourcing-china/led-drivers for the electrical LED driver module (CC/CV, dimming, IP/PFC); keep a separate equipment fan buy on cooling-fans. Keep each RFQ on the matching page so suppliers quote the same product scope.
Does Sephalis manufacture or certify cooling fans (CFM, noise, IP or life)?
No. Sephalis is a buyer-side sourcing and supplier-research service. It helps compare DC cooling fan and blower manufacturers and collect specifications, quotations, samples and supplier documents. Manufacturing capability claims, CFM/noise/IP/life marketing and any certificates remain with the supplier; formal thermal airflow engineering sign-off, lab verification or market-access approval stays with the relevant specialists. Sephalis never certifies CFM, noise, IP or bearing life.
Why must axial vs blower, airflow and static pressure appear in the RFQ?
Axial fans and blowers (centrifugal) are different products with different static-pressure behaviour. A high free-air CFM claim can fail behind a grille, filter, heatsink or duct. Name fan type and put airflow target plus static-pressure / system-resistance assumptions (or "unknown") in the RFQ before comparing unit price so suppliers answer the same brief. Treat CFM, Pa and noise figures as buyer targets or supplier claims — not Sephalis design or certification.
Why must PWM / FG / RD and connector pinout appear in the RFQ?
2-wire, 3-wire FG and 4-wire PWM fans are different products; RD/RDB alarm wires and polarity change the harness. Pinout, PWM duty/frequency expectations and mating connector P/N must sit in the RFQ so controller fit and assembly quotes stay comparable. Photos alone are not enough.
How should MOQ, sample and NRE / customisation be compared?
Ask each supplier to separate catalogue match, wire/label/pack customisation, performance tune and full ODM/tooling paths; split unit price from any NRE; and split sample cost and sample lead time from production MOQ and production lead time. A low MOQ claim is not comparable until those lines are written down.
Is a retail PC cooler or AC building ventilation fan the same RFQ as an equipment cooling fan?
No. This page is for discrete OEM DC axial fans and DC blowers used in equipment / enclosure / industrial electronics cooling. Retail PC/CPU/GPU/RGB coolers and AC mains HVAC or building-room ventilation as primary products are out of scope. For discrete metal heatsinks use /electronics-sourcing-china/heatsinks; for housings use /electronics-sourcing-china/electronic-enclosures.
